This Yio Chu Kang Road Residence sits quietly within the Serangoon planning area, shaped by URA’s 2-storey envelope control guidelines. Conceived as a contemporary family home, the design seeks to balance modern living with a sensitivity to its urban context and climate.
The client’s vision was clear, to create a house that feels open, connected, and purposeful, one that makes full use of every square metre while remaining comfortable and liveable. The spaces are arranged to encourage interaction and light: a generous living and dining area forms the social heart of the home, while the attic is reimagined as a private sanctuary for the owners.
Sustainability underpins the design approach. Natural ventilation, strategic shading, and daylight optimisation reduce reliance on mechanical systems, creating a home that breathes with its surroundings. Thoughtful material selection and energy-efficient features further enhance the home’s environmental performance, expressing a quiet commitment to longevity, comfort, and responsible design.
